Larry R. Taub, M.D.
Dr. Larry Taub is honored to have been placed in the D Magazine Hall of Fame, along with his longtime partner, Dr. Gordon Newman. As a board-certified ophthalmologist and past president of the Dallas Academy of Ophthalmology, Dr. Taub provides comprehensive eye care and surgery to his patients. Together with Dr. Claire Chu, the Newman and Taub Vision Center offers premium cataract surgery using advanced technology, such as the PanOptix, Vivity, Symfony and Toric lens implants. The latest in diagnostic and treatment modalities allow them to provide thorough and individualized care for a wide variety of ophthalmic conditions, such as glaucoma and diabetes, as well as complete eye exams. Dr. Taub appreciates the many referrals from his patients and fellow physicians.
Claire Y. Chu, M.D.
As a child, Dr. Claire Chu watched the U.S.President award the National Medal of Science to her father in Washington, D.C. “Seize the day,” her father would tell her. The excitement of publishing research discoveries in top science journals was unparalleled, but she found her true passion in medical school in the field of ophthalmology. She loves integrating the latest technology in microsurgery to help patients enjoy their best vision after cataract surgery. Dr. Chu has dedicated herself to teaching young doctors at UT Southwestern Medical School for more than 10 years. In her spare time, she is an active member of the Junior League of Dallas and volunteers at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden and Habitat for Humanity. As she walks in throughout the gardens, she whistles the tune, “I can see clearly now the rain has gone.”
